Mechanical Insulation

What does that job entail (x1): Mechanical Insulation is thermal insulation used on piping, equipment and all types of mechanical systems (including boilers, HVAC systems and ducts) meant to reduce energy costs and greenhouse gas emissions. The trained professionals who perform this work are known as Mechanical Insulators or Mechanics.

Firestopping

Firestopping is a life-saving technique to help prevent fire from spreading through fire rated walls. This is done through standardized and proper design, installation, inspection and maintenance of these materials around wall penetrations. The trained professionals who perform this work often have training as a Mechanical Insulator with additional instruction to be a firestopper.

Infectious Disease Control

The main purpose of infectious disease control is to inhibit the spread of disease through proper containment. Containment is an intricate process that requires the careful filling of any holes, penetrations, gaps, or spaces that could be a potential path for the spread of disease or other airborne contaminants. The trained professionals who perform this work are known as Mechanical Insulators or Mechanics.
